OK guys. I'm not pulling any punches. Simply telling it like it is.

It is now ball park 6 weeks from the WAKSA public meeting.

The Cott guys are making some progress, I see dune repairs, meetings, press involvement.

Nothing has happened about Pelican Point (or worse, things have happened and noone is being told about them!).

I do, however, see a lot of finger pointing going on, which is not productive to finding any solutions.

Some good ideas are popping up both on the WAKSA forum and verbally between Peli regulars and the Peli Committee.

But nothing has been done about it.

To the WAKSA guys.

Can you please respond to this post and clarify exactly who is a part of the Pelican Point committee, and preferably an email/phone contact for them.

Also, the average punter doesn't know what your doing (at least around Peli). Can you please use the resources you have to get better feedback to your members? I see some stuff is happening at Cott (obscure one line reference in WAKSA forum post) Why not send a News/Article about it via email to your members!? Not everyone showed up to the meeting, but I bet a lot of them read their email!

To the Pelican Point committee guys.

You need to have a meeting, preferably inviting anyone from Peli who is willing to show.

You need to minute the meeting.

You need to document the ideas and assign someone to develop these ideas.

You need to present this stuff back to the WAKSA guys in an organized manner so that the WAKSA guys can be aware of whats going on and in a position to support the ideas.

(cmon, set a time for a beer at steves with plenty of forewarning and then post a message on seabreeze forums about it!)

None of this represents a lot of effort, it just seems noone wants to do it.

yeah i agree and ive been thinkin exactly the same about that area for a week or so now. it would be good to get a crew from peli point together to put issues forward that they feel are relevant. once we have ideas about what should be done, we can then action it.

How does Monday 17th March, 7pm at Steves Pub sound??

What would be a starting point would be to print off copies of the issues and ideas of peli point's topic and work on that. some good ideas should be shown that way.

i dont think its that no one wants to do it, its just no one has taken it upon them selves to be the person to take the first step forward.

17th is a Wednesday, if it's that day, or the 15th (monday), i'll be there.

jan you're right, and as you know, there are a few blokes around who can do this sort of thing and can do it well... it just takes participation and a little effort.

Richi, you're right too mate, nobody has taken the first step to making this happen, but isn't that what being on a committee involves?? actually being the person, or group who puts themselves in the ring to do something about it??

i didn't have time to come to the meeting at the cott, but having said that i've spoken to guys who were there so i know second hand what went on. but i don't even know who the guys are that are on the committee... that seems to say a fair bit to me.

if the guys who are on the committee are not the sorts of guys who are willing to make a move on this stuff then perhaps the committee needs to be shuffled... it'll be too little too late if any major accident occurs there and we're banned from the area because nobody made the first move.

although i have a business to run, and i don't get enough time to kite as it stands, i'd be willing to donate time etc to make sure when i want to kite, i can go to peli. simple!

i'm in for the meeting for sure.

guys

do you think we should wait another week or so, give everyone a bit more notice?? not really much point if only a few are there...

at the very least, the guys on the committee will need to be there, obviously they're the ones who have to report back to waksa etc so it'd be pointless having a meeting without them there...

any thoughts???
