Just been given some dreadful news been told not to kite for 8 weeks I case the retina detaches it self could happen if I jump or have a bad fall

Gee that sucks mate! Best look after it but. Be awful to lose sight in one eye. All the best.

Jesus buddy was that from kiting, too much sun exposure? Or somehting else? Agree with Dave, ya eye is more important now, plenty of wind To come and other seasons.

Not from kiting mate from the "leg/arm " of my saftey glasses was taking them off with one hand and the right side stuck to my head ( sweat) didn't have good grip and they sprang back boom direct hit lucky it only hit the white part of eye

diff to see from picture alone but it looks like typical sub conjunctival haemorrhage and if that the case has nothing to do with retina detachment.
Obviously we can not see retinal pituctre here so you might as well have bleed there
who told you to keep of the water, maybe get second option,

can get something having a good chuck :-)

burst blood vessel on the sclera (white area)

did they look at the back of the eye itself?
good optometrist can do that for you with out need to see eye specialist
