So im heading up to stay at ningaloo station for a few days end of august and dont really know what the deal is with it.. hoping anyone out there has actually been up there and kited it, im thinking ill only need my 12 as winds dont look to narley. but ill pack the 9 just incase.
would really love for a few good camp spots at the station and a bit of a direction of the places to avoid, as we only have a few days there id prefer to be set up in one spot and not moving round to get a better pozzie.
ive flowin over the reef about a thousand times for work and it looks amazing from the air and im guessing its a hundred times better on the ground.
like i said any info would be killer.. cheers guys
Don't really like to promote kite spots but bring your 9m and the best spots are much safer if you have a dinghy as backup. I presume you have booked a site with the homestead and have everything to be self sufficient including a porta loo. (compulsory). Other than that it's pretty much flat water only, the sharks can be huge and the track out can be impassable if you break your ribs.
beware of tides, can strand you the wrong side of the reef, don't get overconfident there's nobody to help you, expect mast height heavy slabs, if it goes wrong your ****#d (if your a wave kiter & where I have been) pm for details, as turtlehunter has said less publicity the better.
Leave the place better than you found it,
cheers for the tips fellas, just got back last week was out at the station and had a killa time. managed to dodge the winds which was a bummer but took the SUPs and enjoyed mother natures wonderland. epic place and we did leave it cleaner than when we got there.. hows the corrigations on the turn off.
cheers again
