G'day guys and girls,

A good friend and I are eager to get into kite surfing this summer. I've been surfing for many years and thought it will be a great way to have fun and stay active on lay days in our swell-less, scorching hot summer months.

We've both purchased all our gear and are now trying to find instruction that won't break our banks any more than the gear already has. No, we aren't going to try and teach ourselves.

I've been doing some reading on the different packages and I'm wondering if it's really worth getting, preferably borrowing or hiring, a training kite? I've flown kites' before but it's been a while since using something with a good bit of power.

All thoughts/opinions are appreciated. Especially if someone can direct as to where to hire/ borrow one of these trainer kites.

cheers.

Mate, your lessons will begin with trainer kites and there is not much use for a trainer kite after the lesson. But if you buy any they are fun for friends who are thinking about kiting and want to get a wee feel for it.

see ya on the water

Cheers
