why waste your time when you have one of the best locations in australia a few hours down the road?

Port Gregory

My mate said Port Gregory was pretty good. Im going to be heading past it in a two weeks, is it worth the detour off the main drag?

Be warned, there is not much there shops wise. But the kiting in Summer is awesome with 25-30 knots seabreezes that are very consistent. Nice reef on the outside, sheltered bay insite. Look on Google Maps satelite and check it yourself.

Not sure about in 2 weeks time though.. its way too early...

From Nov onwards it is great.

A few hours? Gregory is one hour max from Kalbarri.

An easterly could be quite dodgy there. The elevated reef will stop your trip to Madagascar but swells run across the reef and it would not be the best place to be stuck.

iv kited kalbarri a few times, its choppy wind. would need at least 25kn to be happy, best place is to go just north of the area where they feed the pelicans in the mornings, but theres alot to look out for; moorings, boats, tourists on kayaks. have fun
