I'm spending Christmas at Yanchep staying with my fiances parents. When I was there a couple of years ago I kited from the main beach at the north end of the Lagoon. The wind was a bit light and there seemed to be a lot of current running north.

Is there a better spot around the area? I don't want to have to go too far as I'll be getting dropped off and picked up.

Cheers for any advice.

Hey mate, you can kite at the club capricorn beach, but there is a lot of people there in summer. You can also kite at the spot (surf break halfway between two rocks and yanchep) just be very weary of the rocks........there is heaps of reef in that country. If you have a 4wd, then the alkimos south of yanchep is an interesting spot for kiting. Inconsistent peaks for boosting big, Lots a noahs in that region to inspire you to keep on the board as well.
Where you were kiting is called rafts, it gets a nice wave in there sometimes but is very onshore when its a seabreeze. But give it a go anyway.
might see ya out there, i'll be the guy berlying up the water from a crayboat
Az.
