Kite Addiction and WAKSA State Wave Titles finished up on Sunday. It was a fantastic second day of competition. Conditions were good with a 13 to 18 knot southerly increasing during he day and 2 to 3 foot surf providing lefts and rights breaking toward each other in the contest zone.The 30 competitors along with friends, family and other onlookers on the beach ran though the second round heats which started at 12.30 through to finals at about 5.
The guys blew up big time in the final with Ryland Blakeney and Mike Bergman both throwing down some nice moves in the powerful conditions. Special mentions go to the air show put on by Will Phillips, the trademark frontside hacks of Andre Cater, the silky smooth backhand style of Glen Moora and an impressive display of comfort in the power zone by the comps only junior Billy Hampton - watch this kid he is on the rise. Presentations were at the local Shack over a beer on Sunday night.
