Nebbie here, quick question I am new to kitesurfing and was looking into getting a helmet for safety and the go pro, who out there uses one and if you dont use one why, pros and cons etc

Helmets are great.I can't see any cons to wearing one.
I see a guy with a bike helmet on kiting last weekend. It works!
Wearing helmets allows expirenced kiters to know who to watch out for.
If they come with a double combo. I'm talking leash and helmet. Get the @&&$ away quick fast.
Agreed no real cons I can think of, except maybe having to pay for one.
PRO's:
Protect ears for the wind. Some have comms.
Mount for ur Go Pro.
Protect against board/reef impacts.
Stops your hair getting in your mouth.
Got a visor on mine that come right down protecting the old eyeballs. they say there UV resistant?
Easy for mates to pick you out in the crowd, If your kite doesnt do that already, in the surf this works better, although I dont use it for surfing.
just tak care that in increases the surface area of your head so if you hit the water with speed you might put more strain on your neck
