has anyone been up to Cape Range for a kite trip over summer? thinking about doing a trip over new years. yep: i know its gonna be hot, but... is it toooo hot? has anyone done this?

put it this way..

45 degrees isn't uncommon for half the month of Jan..

Avg temp over the month is about 38 degrees.

Have done it 2 times in the last 3 years. It is very hot!! But the flies are what drives me crazy!!! Usually good winds though so as long as your wet it seems to solve the above 2 problems!

Hmmm. I thought there would be a clear 'no fkn way' consensus... but we have a point each way...and no closer answer! but thanks for input...

Hey mate I did it last year over new years and it was magic. I didn't notice any flys to be honest, at least I have experienced far worse down south, Margaret river way. Wasn't super windy but great 12m weather. I was out on an 11m edge and had a blast. And yeah it's hot but the view makes up for it. It's cool at night and with aircon etc it's fine. I say go for it
