Hi
heading down to Esperance in a couple of weeks time for two week holiday Staying in town at
at sea view CP. Looking for spots to continue with kids kiting progression, both at the stage just getting on board, chasing flatish water waist to chest deep if possible.
also any general areas to head to for waves downwinders or areas to avoid. Experienced kiter.
cheers
Le Grand beach is nice place for beginners, with fairly cross-shore winds and no cliffy headlands near-by. Super wide beach with lots of space. Small to medium waves. No real flat water anywhere to speak of that I know of, but Esperance locals might have a few sneeky spots they go too.
Experienced wave kiting, go to Fourth Beach - be prepared for some seriouly good big waves.
Been there over Chrissy. No real flat water spots except those beaches where you get some smallish waves coming in smoothly with flat water inbetween. Beautiful huge and by now probably deserted beaches. Enjoy!
Thanks guys. Can't wait..
kiting, surfing, fishing, spending time with the kids camping. Cold beer and BBQ every night. Perfect summer holiday
Shunter,
Enjoy mate, it's a special part of the world down there, especially at this time of year. Bound to be one of those holidays neither you or the kids will ever forget.![]()
Wylie bay headland is about as good as it gets for flat water down hear. Head out to bandy creek and follow beach around. Mite have to share it with 4-5 guys. But heaps of room and good crew, see you there!
Another question for the locals, whats the best way to drive down from perth. Thinking york -Quairading - corrigin - hyden - lake king - ravensthorpe - esperence
I think from memory there is a way on Albany hwy, through Williams, then dumbleyung and then on coast rd the rest of the way from some point east of Albany that goes ok
