Hi guys, when I was working in Perth there were a couple of operators who would pick you up at Sorrento or trigg take you to city beach and you could do a down winder... Really enjoyed it. Now I'm working in Gero and the wind is coming back I'm missing the down winder and we have some great ones here for sure!

Just wondered if a few crew would like to create a Facebook group or something to coordinate and see if it works. I normally get out of work around 4.

Maybe do a Southgates to point Moore to get started and see who is interested?

Let me know what you think Gero kiters (or windsurfers, skis, whatever)

Dave I think there's a Gero kite surfing Facebook page floating around? Might be easier to tack a post on there rather than start a new Facebook group. Either way I'm interested.

How about meet at point Moore car park tommorow(Tuesday) at 4.15 (or suggest a better time) and work it out from there?
I have a small dark grey Ford Fiesta. Wind is looking good!

Did a nice down winder with Chrisxxxx yesterday arvo from Southgates to point Moore. It was great given the wind was a bit average and the mega seaweed areas through back beach ... Hope to keep up the down winder opportunities

"Wind was a bit average"? I recall you having to walk a section because you couldn't get
Upwind?

I would guess around 10ks. Took about 45 mins so a fairly short run.

Dave is about right, just under 10km or so, last week it took us 40-45 minutes but there was barely enough wind, so we kept moving without really stopping anywhere to play. No swell either that day, except that one wave that caught us both off guard and dumped us

Sure does! I hit one patch at speed and went flying over the handlebars. Very lucky to have not dropped the kite in all that crap. Would never have got it up again.

Yes Chris, funny that the wave of the day engulfed both of us!

Hi,

i will arrive next week in Gero coming from overseas.

I've been for several times in Gero and wonder if there is still an oportunity for a downwinder from Sunset to Coronations.

Thanks in advance
Tom

Hi Tom, yes I would be keen to do sunset to corro.
Wind has been very ordinary last few weeks.

Hopefully it will pick up soon!
