Hi,
I´m from Germany - sorry for my poor English - and I´m new here.
I´m going to visit WA from the beginning of October to the middle of December, coming and leaving from Perth. I want to kite surf the westcost from Gnaraloo to Margaret River. I prefer riding in the waves but I think every day in the water is a good day.
Though it´s my first time in Australia I would be happy to get some tipps or help. I already spoke to some guys who did the same and each of them was stoked about surfing, camping and travelling there.
First of all I´m looking for a car to stay in, e.g. a campervan or a station wagon. Renting for such a long period is so expensive so may be anybody has a cheaper option for me.
I´d also like to meet some kitemates who are in the area at the same time.
So I´m really curious to visit your famous country.
Thank you for any help.
See you on the water.
Arnie
first off respect the locals and always ask people about what to do/not to do at a spot . Don't park your wikid campervan at a spot and then **** and dump rubbish everywhere .

Leighton beach: long, wide open and windy when the Southwestery seabreeze is in.

There's a place on Gt Eastern highway'Cheapy Car Rentals'. They have cars and vans for rent. They are nothing special but as the sign says they are cheap. They are towards the airport near the Tonkin highway turnoff. We rented a van there years ago, it was a bucket but it kept going OK for our trip. I don't know how it would compare with 'Wicked' campers price wise. Well good luck!
cars like everything else here is a bit pricey unless you earn locally. you could check the gumtree website for a station 'wagon' . the reliability of the sea breeze increases as you go north. waves in Perth are small and moderate along the northern beaches (towards trigg). large waves around mags down south but sometimes afternoon side off wind. serious stuff down there!
are you an experienced wave kiter? it is a challenging beast but wild ride as I found out after moving here. it will be great.
windsurfing but informative / cool clips

nice to see racial stereotyping is alive and well in west australia
