Was wondering if anyone could give me the lowdown on whether Cocos has decent trade winds in June. I have been through the archive of weather bureau and they look ok, 12-15knots but would love to know from someone who goes there regularly. There seemed to be quite a few doldrum days on record.I went in Sept-Oct a few years ago but cannot go at this time this year.
Any help would be great.

Some one will have to back me up on this. But im pretty sure the island has the trades in June but they are very light. They start to kick later in the year.

I was there in mid-late july and only got one session on my 12m, rest was on my 16m (C-kites, 85kg). I'd say in June you'd struggle. Earliest would be July and I think it gets stronger Aug/Sept.

Cocos is great if you just like cruising around and enjoying warmth, etc but theres so much coral around it's not that good if your trying to progress and crashing kite often - take booties and med kit for treating coral cuts (no betadine!!!)
