Is this a trolls attempt at taking the p..s .
If not you guys need to do some more research, the train goes as far as clarkson 35 k from the city going north and stops there. We do have roads and most even have black stuff on called tarmac, but not all of them so ull need a hire car etc if you want to travel north/south. South the trains go as far as mandurah ( 100 k )
MOST IMPORTANT RULE, ASK THE LOCALS WHAT AND WHERE YOU CAN KITE.
PEOPLE HERE WANT TO BAN KITING FROM SOME IF NOT ALL BEACHES SO DONT ENCOURAGE THEM BY BREAKING ANY RULES JUST FOR A QUICK HIT ( YOU MIGHT JUST GET ONE BACK )
HAPPY KITING.

ha, ha yes and clarkson is +- 30km from perth so you have another 1200km to go which is approx. the lengt of EURO you are from and......I a have been in WA for 7 months now and still trying to find out where to kite. good luck/ should have gone to Cape Town and joined Aaron/ Kevin and the boys for 25-60knots of perfect cross shore for 5 monts!

Sorry mate - did not mean it like that just pointing to fact that there is propably beter places than Perth for traveling kitesurfers to go, infact I would rather be in Le Mourne Mauritius right now than Cpt - warm water and awsome spots less than 1 hour apart - Perth is a great place to live maybe not the best kiting I am still to find out. Cheers R

Had great wind yesterda and a fun kite at Scarborough - Loads of spots if you are into freestyle or mowing the lawn. Still looking for a spot for some down the line wave riding. Mettams showed some promise but the polies were all over it. Any other spots that might work?

You won't find what you are looking for in Perth Metro area. Maybe the reef area out from & north of Hillary's if you have a boat to rescue you. Some areas are off limits on the WAKSA guidelines and I guess Marmion is one of these. Best check the forecast and head north or south on the basis of that.

Thanks, I was eye-balling the reef at Hillarys yesterday since I live 2km away. There was some windsurfers out there. Been out there on a SUP before so I know that is a hec of a distance to swim should something go wrong. Might work if a couple of kiters went out there to assist should a kite go down.

What is closest or best spot North - will appreciate the advice.

A few guys were out in Marmion yesterday a short distance from Mettams - not much space to launch though.
