Hello, I was wondering if there are any Perth kiters on here that have lived and kited in Adelaide? I was wondering how the two cities compare in terms of wind quality and kitable days (all year round)? There is a chance I may need to move to Adelaide, but I would be hesitant to move somewhere that doesn't have kiting opportunities equal to Perth. Judging from the KSA website, it looks pretty good, but I would appreciate advice from people that have experience. Thanks in advance

I used to live in Adelaide, but before i used to kite. Stormy days are as regular, not as intense. Dont remember much on the seabreeze front and no cable either!

I have heard if you head north west around Whyalla its better, although have no idea why youd live there. Lincoln isnt bad good surf too.

Bronnie,
From what I hear Adelaide has no wind and lots of great whites. Wine is also not as good as W.A. I think you should definately stay a few more seasons in Perth.

(Disclaimer: JoeMc has never been past the transit lounge in Adelaide airport)

Perth is rated as the third windiest city in the world.
Adelaide is not.
Perth is also sunnier and has better beaches.
Case closed.

Thanks guys Adelaide is sounding like a bad idea. I have only been kiting one season, but have already become accustomed to a certain kiting lifestyle, which includes seabreeze all summer and being able to kite at least once per week even in winter. Sounds like good wind is just another thing Adelaide doesn't have to offer

I grew up in Adelaide and now live in Perth. We used to windsurf off the metropolitan beaches - same orientation as Perth, but the Seabreeze was not as regular or strong. We also used to go to Goolwa (flat water on Murray river and waves) or Victor Harbour from time to time. A mate lives near Port Adelaide ( North Haven) and he kites, windsurfs and SUPS pretty regularly. Would I move back by choice ? No Way :)

Oh i do love a good red wine for after drinks sessions. A 3.5 m great white was reported on Dorsal Shark Reports the other day at Woodies while I was kiting there!. Although apparently that was just a little one; a 6 m one was reported this weekend in Gero. I totally look like a juicy seal in my wetsuit, so I have had to stop following the dorsal reports .
