i really wanna start kite surfing and i have saved up all the money and got my first lesson and now gooing to buy my second but suddenly parents are against it and saying im too young to do it and should start when im around 17 :

does anyone have any magic powers so i can persuade them :)

how old are you?? and how much do you weigh. its a big factor on how much u weigh with kiting. good luck!

Dude, i'm a parent, my son is 12 and been kiteing since november last year, step 1. make sure your instructor is IKO registered
step 2. introduce them (parents) to your instructor and get them involved, safety is the important thing here for ALL concerned
step 3. you and your parents need to get to know your local kiters, looking out for each other is a big part of kiteing on and off the water

yeah im 14

ive got a trainer kite

and i have got an iko instructor and introoduced my parents and dad has suddenly gone yes thats a greeat sport but mother is saying no hahahah

The kiting community is an awesome one to be involved in- run away from home if they wont let you kite !!!!!!

Tell em that one of the best female kiters in the world is about 14 years old from Spain!

I reckon at 14 he is likely to more mature than most of the hardcore crew out there though!

Sam - tell your mum you have been thinking about spending your idle time getting into car jacking and moving 'product' in nightclubs instead. Tell ya dad you want to get into musical theatre. No doubt they will both be super stoked you chose to get into kiting instead!!

Definately a good idea to sort out some kite buddies from the start though young fella. It is a hazardous sport at any age and a few mates keeping an eye out for ya will help.

HAHA ! its working they say once i have mastered the trainer kite and can fly without looking at the kite etc etc and is after chrisyy i can buy a kiteee and board...thanks for all the tips
