Anyone have any ideas of any easy access 4wd and kiteable beaches within a few hours of Perth? New car arrives this week and i'd like to use it!

I've fished a lot of remote 4wd spots but always north of Kalbarri and on the south coast its been Cape Arid / Isralite Bay.

Alkimos and Wilbinga seem like the obvious choices, especially as i'm in Alkimos but I hear the rangers fine you there? It'd be perfect. Easy access, no crowds and a huge beach. NFI about Wilbinga though?

Even somewhere with chalets or half decent accom nearby for a weekend?

Flat water or surf? Lot of options between yanchep and gero. Wedge is obviously popular amoung 4x4 crew and easy beach to drive on.

Anywhere really, just somewhere within an hr or 3 were i can drive onto the beach without massive crowds or too many problems (novice 4wder) and even camp overnight or stay at a chalet with my mrs.

Is the flat water spot at Lanno's busy midweek?

^^ mid-week Lano is pretty cruizy, plenty of accommodation options. plenty of options for kiting and beach or dune 4WDing. I've. Driven into the beach at Wilbinga a few times and I've not been enthused by it as a potential kite spot, others may have a different opinion.

guilderton on is another option for accommodation and driving, again not flash for kiting but there are options for that as well.

Wedge north and south beaches are the most obvious choice if you're chasing surf.
Lanno back-beach is another option if you're chasing waves.
