the wind in cairns should be fairly good mate, i think the season is usually april to october. july august is usually when the westerly's start in brisbane though so not sure how you'll go here.
good luck

Not good in Brissy in those months I am afraid. Winter, cold, gusty, offshore and doesnt blow often. Got to standby and get out when it hits. Head north Queensland you'll get a lot more wind and warmth :)

Great to see some international interest is coming to our patch of paradise. I am a Cairns local (Born & Bred) The kite season is April to November. The conditions are better the further North you go. Constant SE that range from 15 to 25 on a bad day. Great local kite scene in Cairns. Yorky's Knob beach has plenty of friendly international and local kite enthusiasts nearly every day of the week. People that have been on the Adventure with Australian Kite Surfari call it the greatest Kite holiday ever. Not just a holiday but a life changing experience is among the comments.

Check out Chris from Kite Right at Yorky's for an unbiased opinion or click on the advertising banner on this seabreeze site to get a direct link to the Australian Kite Surfari Web site. Or australiankitesurfari.com.au

Hope this helps..
