hey sea breezers
is june a good time to kite port douglas?
holiday is already booked just want to know if its worth bringing kite(s)
will I need a big kite at this time of year?
is it off season for the crocs ?
whats the go with the crocs?
theres signs everywhere warning of them but theres a kite beach?
do they just stick to the rivers and river mouths or do I need to kite with a big stick to beat them away?
No off season for crocs. You see them more in winter, catching the sun. They arnt nesting this time of year, but they will eat you all year long.

Have any kiters had any encounters at 4 mile beach
Sounds like someone doesn't won't kites up there, SurfXF has a trip up there mid June , they have a money back guaranteed if you get eaten by crocs

ive been up there once before
I brought kite gear with me
when I checked into hotel with gear the hotel manager spoke to me like I would have to have rocks in my head to even think about it
but ive noticed there is a kite school
and people saying its world class kiting
there really wasn't enough wind last time and no one around with kite gear
i kite in an area at home that is sharky but ive heard crocs are next level and we are on the menu
I grew up in port douglas and learnt to kite with bretto from windswell up there, awesome kiting

Nah. Stingers are from Nov to May. You should be ok now. But please use common sense and heed the warnings. Go to WindSwell BEFORE you head out into the water and ask for local advice and knowledge. A stupid tourist was just taken by a croc and has not been found - not far north from P.Douglas. Don't be a hero!
Other than that, you will love 4-mile beach. It's a great kite surf spot and land buggy spot in low tide.
Ahoy there if you want to know the inside scoop dont believe the hype here online contact me happy to offer local advise based on more than 20 years or more of wind and weather knowledge :) 0427498042 and the crocs and stingers keep the crowds down
