I am going on a trip to the Sunshine Coast next week. We are staying just south of Noosa. I am debating if I should take my kite gear? What is the wind like this time of year?
I am also looking at booking my other-half into a kitesurfing lesson. What schools are around and does anyone have any recommendations????

You'd be silly not to take your gear, it's pretty good atm. There are a ton of instructors around Noosa and Maroochy. They do some lessons out at Boreen Point just north of Noosa which is ideal beginner territory, flat water and not tide influenced. It's getting toward peak season for them though so they can be hard to pin down.

Open - (google maps) goto Satelite view and zoom in - has sites -- go/no go zones -- kite shops and repairers
Sunday PM will be north to south downwinder
Monday will be Caloundra rivermouth or Lake Weyba (practically in Noosa)....
