It appears to me that slowly but surely kiters every where, suny coast and the goldy particulary, are starting to feel the heat of the relevant authorities to ATTEMPT to ban kiting or at least begin to regulate our movements, tis about time we start to look at strategies to be prepared for this, to be able to represent ourselves if things get serious, and show that the average kiteboarder is NOT some irresponsible scozza careless to the enviroment and safety of the general public.

yep, how about a kite surfers book of rules with every kite sold.
seems to me the main prob is people launching kites way to close to gen public....to lazy to go about a 100 m away or even 50, I see this all the time at Noosa, Its gunna bite us big time one day!! so for the sake of our sport people, Dont be shy an give the offenders a reminder,if they give you any crap pull out your razer blade an go to work on there lines for a 2nd offence go to work on the kite

Educate b4 its 2 late

Some newcomers get so excited launching their kite that common sense goes out the window.

Hey Rooey, Just finished that organised meeting with the clubbies at Peregian...It went down really well it would be great if we all took some time out to inform the SLSA and its clubs how they can assist a kiter in trouble...How to handle a kite, letting them know that they can easily stop an incident by getting the kite under control. Apparently a few weeks ago a kiter was in trouble, about to be pulled into the flags on a down winder...and they grabbed the lines because they where unsure what to do...Could of been a disaster.

Hopefully in future they control the kite first in future.
see you in the waves Nathan.
