Hey guys.
I ride a twin tip and am thinking of doing a down winder probably by myself as I have no one to kitesurf with but am thinking about going from Yaroomba to Mudjimba. What's the thoughts. Is it hard / easy, any good?
I'm thinking big boosting of waves.
Cheers
I launched a kite for a bloke at mudjimba last week he was doing a down winder towards yaroomba he said just get a bus pass and it will bring you straight back. he was having a good time by the look of it boosting big off the waves.
Ow ok sweet. Does the bus go all the way to that end car park does it? And what's the go with any flagged areas along the way?
And have never done one before so not 100% confident on going out past the breakers to far so is it easy to stay in the surf a fair bit?
Seeing the weather U probably have not done 1 yet??
The SEQLD guide covers down-winders and no go zones... sticky at the top of this forum..
U will have to go out past wave zone to pass flagged areas.
Great fun but first few times - go in company - not to be under estimated..
Check and re-familiarise yourself with releasing your kite - if U R in waves and down - you will likely damage it if you are still attached.
Do a search on going out to sea through the wave zone under the "Newbies tips & tricks" thread - from memory a good discussion with a lot of good tips...
Cheers

I'm fairly comfident on going over waves etc and yes I know to hit the quick release if down in the wave zone. Only problem is dont really have anyone to accompany me... Cheers for the advice
