I saw yesterday a kiter sailing close to swimmers at Wello showing off or what ever can you please not do this as its not safe & if anyone gets hit we will all be banned from sailing at Wello & the sailor responsible will more than likely end up in court so can we please keep away from swimmers.
I have seen Sailboarders doing this also & have told them they have agreed not to do this so don't say am picking of Kiters as am not lets just keep it safe & fun ok.

Remo. . Your a legend. . Next they will want to stop jets doing low fly overs at red bull air shows just in case it crashes and kill thousands of spectators. How about getting rid of being able to sue everyone and everything. And enjoy life and its risks. Throw away the cotton wool

Hey Jas/Glynn, probably hard for u guy's to realize, but everyone that has posted here apart from remo, is from the Goldy so it might be worth trying some other form of communication to get ur message across to those in Brisvegas. I notice u mentioned u had a word to ur fellow Poley's, so what's wrong with speaking to the Kiter's in person at ur local spot?? It's probably only a few that are causing problem's as usual.

Gilly as a Polly that does T-bag from time to time, only if my mates aren't watching. All of the local kiters at wello are sweet. It's usually the blowing from somewhere else that cause the problems. Also the swimmers that come out further to see all the kiters up close.

If you had bothered to ask we would have told you that gathering in a large group in the only safe landing area available for kiters is high risk for all of us. Several kiters got injured that day "I was one of them" due to a large gathering of windsurfers in the landing zone. And by the way a kiter cant easily see behind them so a hi speed run strait through the launch area is less than safe also. We don't bother ranting and raving on forums about this behaviour because we understand it is not intentional and they have just as much right as we do to be there so we try and work around them. Kiting is inherently more risky than wind surfing so we look out for each other and also anyone in the area, although it is very difficult to keep track of a windsurfer crossing your path a 40knts. My priority is the public and not wind surfers because the public has less understanding of the risks. Although on reading this thread I'v come to the realisation that wind surfers may not have the level of understanding of kiting related risks I thought they had.

The vast majority of windsurfers are great people who are friendly and polite. I personally have a lot of time for them and are always happy for a chat.

But rood ignorant pricks will be met with the same no mater what they ride. There was a bit of that going on that day also.

Wldistel - the only safe landing area?? Come on tiger turn it up. I've kited at wello. The only reason I go into the shallow area where the windsurfers are having a rest is to show off my hell boosting tricks to anyone that will look at me!!! Landing in shallow water isn't very clever...

i seen you out there being a total t-bag jerk Remo. You are the problem with kiting. If you took up another sport, ballet for example, we would all be better off.

And glynn - are you sure they were swimmers? I thought they were gybe markers!!

Hay Boys i do chat to the Kiters and don't have a problems with them in general, but if you find it hard to look over your shoulder before jumping or changing direction maybe you should take up new sport

yeh, I hear ya... been kiting there since 2001-2002 and have nearly been taken out by the same twat
twice.... Some people are a bit oblivious too other people on the water... and look out for the dogs swimming too!

There's a strange atmosphere down there now.... Not like it was when kitehaven and a lot of
down to earth people were down there!

Bullies can **** off!

We'll it took me about 3 months to get up and planing in the straps on the pole. My T-bag took about 2hrs to be going up wind. And no I didn't have any lessons. Lessons are for f$gs dude.
The only problem is with a big fin in the pole machine you can't go into the shallow water to show off all your cool moves to the kids watching... Just saying

Wind surfing is for people who like to mow the grass. Its like security guards who cant get into the police force. If this is you keep wind surfing other wise join the force and kite surf your life away. ..

im pretty sure if you get to that point your almost pro. once you actually grab the handle bar your there. if you actually move forward you are then able to yell at kiters to get out of your way because theres no way of stopping the stupid looking thing. hahahah
