I posted a question a few days back about likely kiting conditions in Port Douglas in early November and the possibility of hiring kite gear. So far, 77 reads but no responses. Other posts looking for advice get similar traffic. Very little advice on this forum. Should we be looking elsewhere ?
I'm sure you folks in Queensland are friendly types with strong opinions. Do I need to be offensive to get a response ?
Maybe I should post to the general forum, there is more activivty over there. Awesome thread on Kiting at night for example.
Please somebody respond, positively, negatively, whatever.
Thanks

I know you were after some advise from locals but I hope this helps.
awww hey now bud don't worry too much about not getting a response. We don't mean anything by it, just that things happen slowly up here in North Queensland.
You'll probably find there's a bunch of people here who are meaning to respond but just havn't got around to it yet. It's a pretty slow pace of life up here so you have to just go with the flow a little.
Right now we're probably averaging 3-4 riding days per week. 11-12m is the most common size. Some weeks are better than others. In Novemeber I wouldn't expect that figure to improve. We might still get the wind but it's the consistancy which will probably stop you kiting as much as you'd like. There's a bunch of kitesurfing places around who will rent you gear, a quick google search will give you the details.
Also, you're getting close to stinger season in Nov. I'm not saying you can't ride but you better google the **** out of it so you know what the deal is.
Anyhow buddy take it easy and we might see you around in Nov.
Kym.
Why was the Olympic commentary spoken in French 1st then English? Sucking up to the Olympic committee CEO? How good was GB? Just think it only 14 countries combined. Can't wait till Rio and the kitesurfing. What style should I be training for? Do the French have any inside info? I was thinking about Gansta style, with kickers and sliders in bindings, whilst smoking a reefer between heats and the finals.
The general thread obviously gets more hits.
Before you post, try searching first. I've found plenty of info on Port Douglas.
Perhaps call a local kite store in Port Douglas.
As you know, the best way to research is to go there yourself and give it a go.
