Dave, the main difference between the two locations is not the tide, the big concern is sharks... Marty sees them all the time cruising around lodders. Shear water is known to be a more safer kiting location. Due to more beach and less things to hit. Tides rise and fall in both locations, you always want the wind to blow against the direction of water flow. Not with it.
Just go out when its 25 knots or more, then it doesn't matter which way the tide is running ![]()
You are more likely to Booooooooost higher in 25+ knots, therefore giving you a better view of the sharks whilst keeping out of harms way....
Seriously though Dave, it's as simple as wind against tide.....so if ur at kfc in a south east breeze u want the tide to be coming in and vice versa if ur out in a north easter. Shearwater is opposite to this.....
How was ur sesh today Stormy??
bloody fantastic session, i was carving it up with troy and kayla and kate.. Had the whole place to ourselves..
Yeah, there was a guy that hit a shark there a few seasons ago. The thing nearly bit his leg off!! The problem is really when you fall off and splash around. Sometimes your in the water for minutes! The students body draging in the shallows with the instructors bring the sharks in for a look too.. There's big tiger sharks out at Loders in summer when the sun is out and the water is warm. Those buggers eat everything!!
