Am heading to the Whitsundays in mid-June but haven't booked accomodation yet. Any tips on the best islands/resorts to kite from?

Hey bro,
If your going to the whittys for a kiting trip then change your plans and go somewhere else. The only good spot to go is whitehaven beach on whitsunday island. Its beautiful, thats the good news. The bad news is its a ****ing nightmare to kite. Return boat trips, no accomodation(like most of the islands its heritage listed thus protected from the scouge of humanity) you can camp but the camp spot is seven klicks from the kite spot. The wind is fickle that time of year and it still rains a fair bit. Then theres the stingers(full length wetsuits at all times). If you **** up and hurt yourself its gonna be tough to get help quickly. you need a vhf radio cos theres no phone reception. (still goin?)
Forget airlie beach, its not a beach its a swamp.
You can kite at bowen(thats where the locals go) and outside airlie at conway beach, the latter famous for being on a river teeming with crocs.(youtube "conway kiting")
So if your still goin, get ready for a mission, i thought it was gonna be a kiters paradise but it was truly shart. If you do go though, go large and rent a boat and go to the outer reef and kite there. i always wanted to do that, i worked on a dive boat and the wind out there is pure and the water is soooo clear.
Righto, sorry if ive trashed your dreams but better you know.
