Has anyone kite surfed Morten Island?
If so where are the best locations and what winds are best?
Ill be spending some time there in December

I've windsurfed from Tangalooma in a Southerly... Would have to be one of the best times i've been out (on a windsurfer anyway)
Heard there's lots of sharks and other nasties there though?

east side would be the best unless its a westerly. nathan's right though it would be nasty if you lost your board some of the swell out there gets pretty rough

I think he is probably referring to our toothy little friends that frequent the area. I used to surf the point under the lighthouse a fair bit and saw a few, they never worried us too much. A guy got taken by a white pointer off North Point in the early 90's though.

The swell is little different to to gold coast - it is the same stretch of coast.
