Nope, first time.
But it it looks good.
North west on a south Easter, then as the wind turns more to a a seabreeze, west to t he well.
Well that hat is the idea.
??
Hey Mike,
spewin' I missed today, would love to come next time but need to ask a few questions first........
1. Where were u planning to land at Jacobs Well?
2. Are u aware of any wind shadows or dead spots along the course?
3. Have u identified any hazards that u may encounter?
4. What is ur backup plan when the wind drops, as it did today?
Cheers
Hhmmm a downwinder from loaders to JW eh!! To answer the last point of those questions
What's your plan for when the wind drops like it did today?
Hope old mikey has a boat following closely behind ready and waiting to pick him up cause around the grand hotel and up river to shear and beyond the wind gets real flukey also that's the bully breeding nursery hospital up in them waters especially up and beyond paradise point, it's nothing but bull sharks galore as many of us "old school" kiters who've been kiting the GC for 10 years or so seen many many sharkies up thata way.
Here's a much safer option how bout a downwinder from let's say the neck to the Miami area? Then securely hide a $20 in a plastic bag in ya boardies n head off it's straight beach nice easy fun little waves to play around in (staying 200m AWAY from either side of the red n yellows of course) and it's heaps of fun done it heaps of times and when the wind or your kite drops which ever happens first then **** hits the fan not to worry you can just softly and slowly just float back in roll everything up wash off in one of the many GCCC beach showers and bus it back home to narrow neck also why not give me old mate Moti Levey a call he's Mr downwinder and know everything there is to know about downwinders
GOOD LUCK
Ps I'd go with ya on the beach downwinder but I live back in Sydney now but spent 10yrs of fun filled kiting on the coast..... so enjoy and post how it went, curious minds want to know
