Your only shore based option is Gataker's Bay. Once it turns to the South though you can get into trouble. The tides take some explaining so it may be best to give me a call if you are planning on heading out Friday. Steve 0411 714 670.
cheers , i got ya number steve o :D
yeah keen on a bit of flat water dig
or is ther waves
i got all sunday free to kite any hoo
On Sunday the winds are likely to be more of a straight S'ly. In that case, the beach on the South side of the Harbour is the best bet. No waves, just a bit of chop when the tide is up. Low tide is a bit before 11am, so you'd want to wait until 1-1.30 ish. This will give you a couple of hours before you start to lose the beach. If the wind is up earlier and you're keen, you can try near the aquarium, in between the pier and the harbour. In close is likely to be a bit messy as the wind will be slightly coming over the trees. Get 30m out and it cleans up reasonably. If we get some E'ly in it, then this area works well, though for about 3 hrs around low there's no water in the flat area between the beach and the sand bar. Wherever you go, you'll probably only be sharing the entire area with maybe me an 1 or 2 others.
Hi Andy,
Does Elliot Heads work in a direct SW or does it need to be SSW? Will be in the area over the weekend!
