Can somebody who hits this area up when direction is right comment on how well the wind fills in and if its worth alook when the wind is right. seems like the only place where down the line kiting might be possible here in SEQ.

Please correct me if im wrong

Kirra is generally a Winter to Spring beach with NW WNW winds making it the pick spot on the coast. We also aren't too welcome by the lifeguards OR surfers Sth of Kirra so if u tack over towards Snapper via Greenmount there can be some problems if you go to close to shore unless it's really blown out! ESE works but not as clean as NW due to the hills. In the Summer N to NE wind can be fun but very onshore, however there is a nice gutter in close that can be lots of fun to ride even on a surf board if the tide is right....

Thanks Jeff,

How about Currumbin? Does that work on a SE? Does the wind fill in enough there? Of course the surfers will not be happy when they see all the waves us tea baggers get but thats their problem. That occurs everywhere.

On days when its really blown out and there is some size its mostly just a few surfers and possiby some tow in.

Does Currumbin ever get kited, im talking at the point break?

cheers,
