After the awesome time had by all on our first 2 trips to Double Island point we keep getting asked when the next trip will be. Surf FX are doing it again from September 14th to the 16th. It is the weekend before school holidays so it should be uncrowded. As with the first trips you pay us nothing, just dust off the camping gear, fill up your 4X4 and get ready for a good time.

No Four wheel drive? No Problem. There are always a few empty seats or get a few friends and rent one for the weekend from Pelican 4x4 hire www.pelican4x4hire.com.au

We will be leaving Surf FX (Gold Coast) at 4pm on Friday the 14nd, 2 days of camping, kiteboarding, surfing and whatever else. If you want to go early or stay longer go for it, its a great place to spend a few days. Back on the 16th in the evening. If your coming from Brisbane we can meet along the way. It is BYO food, WATER, beer (cans only, less rubbish) and anything else you need.

This trip is great if you have never been to Double Island Point. We can show you around and its great fun. You will need a 4X4 with a recovery point, tire gauge and it would be good if you had a snatch strap. I suggest a trip to super cheap auto and get a tow rated shackle to make attaching a snatch strap a breeze. Each vehicle will need a permit and a camping permit (link below). There are no shops, few toilets, its real camping. Ideally each car will have their own water, food, stove, tent ect.
We will have lots of demo kites and boards from cabrinha, Naish, North and Ozone, paddleboards and other toys to try.

Drive to Noosa, take the barge across the river then get on the beach and head north to the Teewah camping area. Alternative you can drive on the sealed road to Rainbow beach and take the Fresh Water Creek track to the beach. We will be camping at the northern most end of the camping area as marked on the map. For more info call Jon on 0416 183995 or email jon.eddy@surffx.com.au

Kate and myself will be going for sure and I think Kurtis is putting his gear in his 4x4 right now....We are also going over to North Stradie for the Gold Coast show weekend which fall on Friday 31st August - Sunday the 2nd September. North Straddie has some amazing 4x4 tracks, sand mountains for down hill boarding, great surfing beaches and some of best kite beaches as well. The best thing about going over on the Gold Coast show weekend that its extremely quiet and you have all the caravan and camping sites to yourself as well as the surf breaks.

Ferry cost about $100 return and tent sites about $30/per night We are all staying at Adder Rock Caravan Park.

Only a 3 more weeks untill the trip. If you dont have a snatch strap for your 4x4 yet BCF has a fathers day sale for $79 you get a snatch strap, 2 shackels and a bag. Perfect to get yourself or your friend out when bogged in the sand.

2 Weeks to go!!! We just put a 2" lift in the Surf FX Jeep. Now its ready for anything and towing out the RAV4s that get stuck ;)

How many toys are you bringing? We are going to bring our SUPs, Kites, Surfboards, spear guns perhaps and anything else we can fit.

If there is a particular bit of gear you want to demo like a certain kite or board, let us know and we will do our best to pack it.

Hey guys I need to stress that we are not looking after you. You need to bring your own gear, food, water, tent and anything else you need to survive. The lagoon on the North side is great for beginners but we will not be doing lessons (as some people have requested).
We are going on a fun trip, Come along and hang out, have a cold one and get in the water.

See you guys there :)

Its the Map! we will be at the most northern end of the camping zone. For those of you coming up later on friday the tide will be high so drive towards rainbow beach (instead of Noosa and driving up the beach) and take the freshwater road down to the beach. Cant wait!!

This looks great. I live in Brisbane, i have 4x4 n i got my kiting equipment. I'm keen to go on the trip.
Unfortunately i have no camping gear at all, I have space in my car. would be awesome if someone needs a ride and can hook us both up with camping gear.

If your coming up I have a short list of gear you should have in your 4X4 incase you or your friends get bogged. A quick trip to BCF and your sorted.

1. Tire Gauge, be sure to drop your tire pressure to prevent you from getting bogged in the first place (drop to 18-25psi depending on the tire and 4x4)
http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/XTM-4WD-Tyre-Gauge-2-in-1.aspx?pid=291389&menuFrom=10107

2. Snatch strap and Shackles www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/XTM-SUV-Snatch-Kit.aspx?pid=215582&menuFrom=10102#Description

3. Hitch Shackel, turn your towbar into a tow point. www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/XTM-Hitch-Shackle.aspx?pid=215597&menuFrom=10102#Description

Be sure to keep your strap handy like under your seat so you don't have to unload all your crap to get to it!

Please remember to bring CANS, not glass bottles. Nobody wants glass in their feet and its much easier to pack into the cars to take to the bin.
