Surf FX Cabrinha Demo Day Saturday from 1pm at Loaders Creek (KFC). Come check out the latest 2013 kites and boards from Cabrinha and meet Guy, the most famous kiteboarder in the world.
I'm hoping you mistyped and its on Saturday. Its going to be windy all day.
Im keen as to try the chaos.
My name is Rory and I have been kite boarding for five years now and have tried almost every kite there is.... I have found the best kite every made and flown is the Cabrinha Switch Blade series of kites, They have never let me down.. I was so impressed with performance of 2013 series of switch blade kite flown on the demo day, i went out and bought a ten meter from the crew at Surf Fx. They were extremly helpful and I can vouch for the power/control and stability and ease of there re launch ability in all condition. They just keep on getting better. I like them because the string and safety centre ropes are protected in a plastic coating which will make the lines last a hell of alot longer and also you dont get rope burn when un hooking...
Griffin kites are made from the scraps thst land on the floor from the naish helix production line......
Heh Jay, I think Rory has passed out on a few Rums by now, so you might not get any further replies from him, well not tonight ![]()
Hey did you guess kurtis... Bundy rum is fuel for good any good sailers, dont forget to bring your kite gear tomorrow just in case the wind gets up... Sorry i could not make it to meeting tonight, ive been chopping trees down all evening.. Literally.
Very well put Rory! and thank you for your exprienced overview of the Cabrinha Switchblade kite. I have only been kiting for about 18 mths and have not flown as many different brands of kite as you but I am here to echo your sentiments 110%. I have been pushing myself and my equipment to the limit and have found my SB exceeds my expectations! I was out on Sunday in the conditions shown on the following graph. I was setup on the beach opposite kite island waiting for the se to hit and boy did it come in
as you would know because you were one of the only other kiters I saw out there (heaps of poleys, c'mon kiters
) for that 2 hours of awesomeness. Was only expecting 25 kts but had to deal with gusts of up to 39 kts on my 12m
. As stated before had an awsome time and felt completely safe on my Cabrinha even when having to self land in those conditions. I also would like to mention the crew at Surf FX for their experienced advice, great deals and all round pleasure to deal with (no pushy salesmen
)
Good Winds to all!
Craig
Personally the SB is a great kite, but I already have a hybrid from KSS Altona (ATB 10mtr) and it is such as good and yet at least 2 years before the SB. Very similar in performance and usability. I do admit the Cabies are a great brand and the kites have great designs / colours. But the one thing I cannot get over is that stupid spring system. Like as if we need something to keep the middle line taught, when in many cases I need to pop and bend the line occassionally. I found that spring system annoying and perhaps somewhat dangerous if my hair got caught in it or something else. Is it really necessary Cabrihna!?
