The 'Brisbane Women's Kitesurfing' facebook page was recently created to put Brissy kiting gals in touch with each other. It's a place where we can swap contact details etc so we can hopefully meet up at the beach, learn together, go on downwinders together etc.
Ladies, if you haven't checked it out yet, jump on and check it out. Gentlemen, please let your ladies know about it...

Hey RPM,
Fair call, understand what you're saying. The purpose of this page is not to be exclusive and it's not about us being special or anything like that. Rather, it's just that there aren't as many gals as guys at the beach, and a page such as this puts us in contact with each other. Also, I've found the newbie gals I've chatted to really like having a female learning buddy to ease the nerves - this keeps them in the sport, too many gals were trying kiting and then dropping out because they didn't want to go to kiting on their own (this page helps with the hookup for that). And finally, us gals chat about different stuff at the beach to you guys, yes we like chatting about kiting but also chat about other girly stuff.
Cheers ![]()
ps the idea for the page actually came from a guy to help keep gals in the sport
Way to go S.
I know first hand how different kite surfing is to learn for Gals and Guys. We pick it up pretty quickly but we are very careful, and like to take things easily until our confidence grows.
The gals page is about being able to do small down winders, talk about gear, swap stories and give confidence. Something we have found here, the boys are really not interested in being a part of.
We all get along fantastically and don't have a problem with any of it, so I am really sorry to any Women who will suffer in WA because RPM wont help you out in a pinch. I hope there are others with common sense.
