Recently BEST was kind enough to send me their new TS 10m to give it a try and let everyone know what i think.
Hopefully this will happen more often and i will post my location so everyone interested can have a fly.
I have to say I am not a team rider and no one is paying me to write my thoughts, i just think it was pretty cool that BEST sent me a demo kite to give a go.
I am currently looking for some new kites a 6m, 8m, 10m and Joe at BEST suggested the TS 10m.
I weigh 80kg ride twin tip and surfboard both in the surf.
The basic make of the TS looks tough and simple, one pump, adjustable turning speed & bar pressure.
The good stuff is that is so easy to fly
very stable in all wind ( i flew it in 20 - 30knots )
great relaunch , the kite was punished in the surf and just popped back up
an absolute demon upwind , it was hard NOT to stay upwind
good turning speed and gives you hang time quite easily.
The not so good stuff was that the TS lacks a bit of bottom end grunt and doesn't like to drift down the line.
If you want a specific wave riding kite BEST has better options.
In my opinion the new TS 10m is a great all round kite, one word to describe it EASY and fun ( sorry thats two words)

What so Best just decided to send you a kite to try out of the blue. I am sure there are plenty of people out there in the market for a new kite but dont just get random kites sent to them??? Go figure

I didn't want to go into too much detail, but here it is.
I have had my Nemesis 12m for 5 years and i am looking for a new kite.
I emailed BEST to say thanks for a great product that has done the job so well for such a long time and i mentioned due to the fact that i havent been able to demo a BEST kite for a long time on the Gold Coast and none of my mates ride them i will probably moving to another brand that i can demo and see what fits me.
They actually listened and stepped up to the plate.
Now jas73 i sense a touch of sarcasm and i agree it does sound a bit weird but that is the story.
You never know what can happen if you just ask.
Kharn contacted us and I wanted him to try our new product, after he had been riding for 5 years on Best I was interested to hear his comments on how our kites have advanced. Seems like a good bloke so I sent him my 10Ts for the christmas break as I was having some time out with the Family.
He sent it back and has decided its not the kite for him. If anyone in an area that wants to try our product and no shop near has a demo, i am happy to help.

Ahh now that makes more sense. Jo is an awesome guy to help you out like that. Pity you didnt go with one. I dont see anything wrong with giving a shop a personal plug if you have had great service like that. After all it was ARSA that gave you the hook up, not Best. Credit where credit is due... Pity there is no where in Brisbane to demo these kites.
