I tried a 7m Vapor III, a 7m Core GT and a 6m RPM.

They all felt like I was holding on to a very large and very angry Bull who just had his testicles branded with a red hot lump of steel. It's hard to get a good feel for a kite when it's over 30 knots.

but to be honest, all three kites felt ok, the core pulls prety strong and took quite an effort to turn (very stable) however the kite was tuned to be like this i think. The RPM was also a good little kite, however the bar feels like it was dipped in glue and rolled in broken glass. The grip is pretty severe.

I still prefered my own 7m Flow over the three i demoed. Probably just because thats what i'm used to. Although it was a 7m Flow that won the big air comp (I think)...

Yeah, I tried a few kites.
Dont really want to write anything about them as I feel that none of them were in their optimum wind range and it was more me hanging on in the slop than actually riding them.

The Core GT went big in the big air... so atleast we know it can boost.
The bar system is also awesome, however its thicker than normal bars, so takes a little getting used to.

The Vapour3 was looking very cool in the hands of its pro rider, so i'm sure its a capable kite.

I want to demo both of these again in the 20 - 26kt range.

Yep fairly sure it was Sam King on a 7mtr Flow that took out the big air, on the way back down he just seemed to hover a metre or so off the water whist travelling a long way downwind, I think I caught it on video and will attempt to put it up if it is ok but I haven't had the chance to check yet. There were several others that went huge, I'm not sure who they all were but yes Darren Marshall on the Core was certainly up there.

As others have said, It was very hard to demo kites because winds were rarely below about 30knots and it was very choppy. I was going to try a few but I had more than enough power on my 5.5 on Friday, and on Saturday by the time we hung around waiting for the wind before the longwinder, then completed the 27 k's back to Port Denison, then sat down for a well earned lunch and beer at around 4pm I was just too stuffed to demo kites, in what was from memory showing on the Gero graphs as around 35 gusting to 40knots.
By the Sunday it was offshore until after lunch and most of the demo gear was packed up.
It was a top weekend but as far as testing kites it was just to windy/gusty.

radman, it doesn't seem to be that difficult:
Just get rid of the Pulse and get the 12m Flow for surfing and then buy the 6 DNA, and you're set. This way it's much cheaper...

12m 'Slow', you will be sorry. Is this going to be your winter kite? Wont get many miles in Gero. Better off getting something that you will use heaps rather than the kite you have when your not having a kite

radman clearly has too many kites and needs to donate his prize to me. That way everyone will be happy as I'll have a new kite and Radman will have solved his tough and annoying dilemma. pm me radman and I'll give you my postal address.

Why not get the new vapour? I thought it would make a nice wave kite. Turns fast!

dont like the vapour , never have .i think its made for the freestylers , amazing auto zenith for twisting and turning underneath the bar for all that freestyle stuff but not for ripping down the line on a surfboard. u can never have to many kites i say . if i dont spend the money the wife will, and as for winter sailing i did heaps last winter big kites in 10kns is still better than sitting around dreaming about it ,keeps the body tuned for when it is nukin.se e ne n nw w sw s all do able winds in sunny gero cant wait for sum winter sessions on my forehand froth on .
