i wiegh 105 kg and looking at getting a bigger kite for the light days what are the big guys using out there and what advise could be given cheers
I have a cabrinha contra 19.5, which is quite nice. Also a slingshot 17, but if the wind dies, it tends to jellyfish.
I have a 19.5 Contra for sale $400 including bar, excellent condition. If you're interested send me an email
Mate, I'm your size and I have an 06 Rhino 18m that I combine with an Underground 152 board. This is a great combination for light wind days.
I find I need 12 to 13 kns for the action to be good, however, for just cruzin around you can get away with a couple of knots less ( but it has to be constant wind at that level )
The 18 Rhino is one of the fastest 18m kites I have used so you can create " apparent " wind fairly easily.
The big advantage of being a big bloke is that its very easy to handle bigger wind on the 18 should the gusts come thru. I find I'm still comfortable at 20kns - but I wouldn't put it up if it was blowin 20kn from kickoff.
Hope this helps
ps. If you don't want to buy a new kite see if you can get your hands on an 04 18m Rhino - ....a top kite.
regards

thanks fot the advise guys, i was thinking of getting a warroo 20 or a cabrinah contra 17 bow well we'll see what happens
I would take a look at the 18m Rival. I was out on a 16m the other day and was keeping up with a new 17m Contra in marginal winds around 9knt-12knt (I am 86Kg). The difference was that the Rival still turns.
Check it out-
