tried the 130 and 137 sx. and the 127 and 134 misfit. both boards have single concave bottoms and come with wide style straps. sx shape is very similar to 05 but concave and a wider stance differ from previous model. 127 misfit is a sweet little board especially when powered. 134 is a nice allround size and will probally be the more popular size. both boards have wider stance than o5 model and can fit bindings straight onto factory inserts, no t-nuts required. the misfits are totalloy different to the 05 shape. they are alot squarer in shape and seem to work well. hard to choose between the two, you will just have to go and demo both of them from your local slingshot retailer. and like all slingshot products they are of the highest quality( BOMBPROOF) and while ya there check the new kites they rock.
Peli Point have a demo SX 37 and a Misfit 27 - just arrived. Looking mighty sweet. Give em a go - you'll just have to get them out of my death grip first. Oh yeah, and an 11m F1 Impact for try too. Aah the joys of working in a kite shop.
Tried the two boards yesterday in the smaller sizes, the SX is a good all round board, great upwind with the concave and a great feel riding rail to rail. It's nice to get off the overly flex orientated boards that cheap manufacturing techniques are making trendy these days. The Misfit bites like crazy, it feels almost impossible to loose your edge, and hence this will be a great jumping board. Really straight through the rails too so its a very fast board if you want it to be and goes upwind like nothing else
Interestingly enough thi 06 SX feels a little like last year's Misfit; smooth, good through the chop, easy rail to rail and sweet load n' pop. The 06 Misfit is going to require much more engagement this time around as it makes certain demands on you as a rider. Fast as hell and wicked at holding the line. Jumpers are going to have their timing dialed and kite skills up there to match. Solid landings thanks to the squarer ends. Try with the SX fins for a more forgiving beast. Tame it as it is and you'll be mastering a thoroughbred.
