Hi Burley,
The 07 Shockwave is an evolution of the 06. The bar is now convertible from 2:1 to 1:1, the kite will no longer reverse when sheeted in hard. Basically a sound design now improved, the excellent Naish build quaility remains. Whilst the Shockwave is a very good kite, I would recommmend the Naish Boxer SLE to start off with. Its broader in aspect, more forgiving and not as quick through the window. As for size I would guess the 9M would do well. I have flown the Shockwave for around 18 months (9M&12M) and have recently played with the 12m Boxer SLE and highly recommend both kites.
Constant winds,
Baz.
