I have been riding my 6 foot RF for a few months now and have been very happy with it, Compared to my old SRT I find it very loose and I can bottom turn it very tightly.....
While riding today 2 of my fins snapped off, not running aground - just turning on a wave! (bit p!ssed off about that)

So i could get back out I borrowed fins from my mates broken SRT, This completly changed the feel of the board, I can no longer crank super sharp bottom turns and there is no snappy feel off the top. The SRT fins are very hard in comparison to the stock RF fins.

I need to find some fins which feel as loose as the original ones that are not so weak they just snap with normal riding.
Has anyone found better fins for the RF? I would love to hear about it.

thanks
SC

I've got the RF 6'0. I didn't really like the stock fins - too flexible and a bit large IMO. You can buy an adaptor from NSP which allows you to use any FCS fins - converts mini tuttle to FCS.

You should be able to get the adaptor in oz somewhere.

I'm using FCS G5s (medium flex) at the moment but am thinking of going even smaller with G3s eventhough I am 85kgs. Lager fins seems to "rail" the board when fast bottom turning. The smaller fins seem to loosen the board up for me.

Also I think the Naish fins (with the FR boards - again mini tuttle) look pretty good so you could just buy some of those.

How's you'r neck siny?!!

I have changed to some FCS TC white line - a bit smaller and stiffer than the stock RF fin but nowhere as stiff as the SRT fins.... They feel slow and dragy, like i have weed on the fins. The first time I tried them i kept turning the board over because i was so sure there was weed on them.

I was really happy with the fins that came with the board, until they broke, they are so much faster and looser than the others I have tried.

Presto has some FCS fins he is happy with, he might let me put them on my board and have a go.

When you come back we can swap boards and compare

You'd think North would have replacement fins available like Slingshot has. I too broke a fin on my new 08 Rocket Fish & know of a few others that have done the same. I was lucky I had an old set of fins from a previous Rocket Fish. The board actually feels a little better now, the fins don't vibrate like the original plastic ones did & I can still throw the board around.
