Talk to absolutely as many people as you can and try them out if possible.
The turbo diesel has had the least favourable feedback of any bow kite.
Also try and get a go on a bridled sle like the waroo,ne Liquid force havoc, boxer or sonic. etc. Most riders much prefer this style of flat kite.

12m xbow are a great kite wind range 9knt-25knts and one of the most youser friendly and safest kites on the market.Ive had a 9m 12m 16m last season and currently up dating to the new xbow and contra.

I'd go the Switchblade. You should be able to get new ones for 25% off since the SB2 is around the corner. I rode the TD twice. Didn't have the low end of the SB and inverted the first time I dropped it.

Every one has an opinion BUT sling shot has the BEST durability and resale value. It also is a little more forgiving than the crossbow so for a newby, I'd recommend the SS. Their a great kite Period. You can get a new one now for around $1500. There's a new one advertised in the sale section

sooo stoked with my waroo 12 it has way less bar pressure than my mates crossbow 12 but... not to many second hand ones around because they are so good. Try a few first.

realplayer: second hand 06 9m Switchblade, probably cost you around $1200, not sure about XBOW. Prices on all 06 SB1 and XBow1 will drop becasue of the new 07 models.
