Has anyone tried either of these products?

My experience with water and shock resistant innovations has been poor. They all cost a fortune and seem to bite the dust sooner rather than later.

I would like to know where I can get one.....and price please.

Hey Alberto, where did you find the price you stated... On the website it's 99 pounds which equates to $237 ?

I'm up for buying one of these as it's awesome kiting with music. I've a water proof pouch that I put my mp3 player in now...

Harvey Norman had them on special a for $129 a few months ago.. I'll wait and see how they preform. They are only water proof to 1 metre according to the specifications on the box. I like the idea of them........... but when it's crowded... how many times have you had to yell at or been yelled at to avoid an accident?

Keeping the volume at suitable level allows for conversation and listening. Surfing was great yesterday.

I was going to grab one the other day and was really keen to try b4 buy, especially with concerns that they sound sh*%te. Obviously hygene concerns prevented me from trying the player and I wasnt prepared to part with the dosh to find they sound sh*%te and no returns if so.
So how does it sound HungLong ? Coz I couldnt think of anything better than have amping tunes whilst kiting surfing or just swimming.
Any other opinions on the sound quality of these lil beasts would be appreciated.
cheers

Well I recon it sounds great...

One thing is needed to be done to these I recon... the little water ear plugs need to be silicon'd on for the best perfomance out of the ear plugs...

Yes it is true that the water plugs are designed to give best performance when wet... but if inserted correctly into the ears they work perfect...

I've got the 256meg model, I love it...

Waterproof MP3 players are starting to hit the scene but all seem to carry one thing in common- low volume and/or tinny sounds from the earphones unless you are under water with them. I have a pretty bombproof set from Iriver.com , 1G player with so many extras you get confused and forget about most of them. They have teamed up with H2O audio to produce a really cool and totally shockproof set up.https://secure5.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=iriver&BusType=BtoC&Count1=555126368&Count2=737846016
The best bit is those earphones won't fall off on a jump gone wrong. And you can take the player out of the casing and use it running etc. The equalizer settings allow you to boost the volume on the different levels so you can crank it up to a nice bop along range, with a nice bass sound. Most of the kitesurfers I know use this set up, as it's tried and tested. Check it out.

How come they can come up with all this waterproof stuff for music. I wanna know where the water proof mobile phones are! I work on boats and am on my 4th phone- dropped one in the piss on Saturday, dove in and got the bastard washed it in fresh water and circuit cleaning spray then dried it out but no joy! They can put men on the moon but cant build a waterproof phone!! I reckon its a big scam so the phone companies sell more phones. I wouldnt want one out kiting but am getting sick of buying them.

Just going off the track a bit but I was wondering if there was anything like this sort of communication equipment on the market:

1) VOX (voice activated)
2) Water proof - fully submergible(NOT water resistant)
3) Compact and handsfree
4) Heavy duty

I know that Magellan hand compact water resistant GPS units that were also water proof with VOX.

I was thinking that being able to kitesurf with a light fuss free unit attached to communicate with other kitesurfers would be a real buzz and convenience.

Has anyone found anything on the market that would be good?

cheers
