Opinions please!

Say average 75kg rider, no pulleys, good relaunch, 12-18knots, good pop, 132 board

Hey eeeZeee, did you get yourself some smaller C4s and want something bigger?

Still a few weeks before I'll be out on my C4s again but I can say that what little time I've had on the 12m the relaunch in light stuff is fantastic. I reverse launched it in barely enough to keep it in the air (admittedly I was standing in the shallows but still it was mind-bogglingly easy) and back line relaunch only required a small puff more.

I'm guessing the 13m C4 would have to be on the list.

12m B4, good bottom end, awesome allround, best i've tried. 14m for even more lightwind grunt. would go with 11 c4

realistically you cant do much good freestyle in 12 knots but looking at a kite the same as or similar to your other kites is the best bet if you're serious about freestyle.
a 15m C4 if they make those would be a great start, or a 13 - 15 in any other Hybrid c / c kite format would be a go.

But like i said FS is quite limited in the sub 15s and a surfy would probably be a better bet IMO.

14M Park, best 12-20knot freestyle kite i've ever ridden, if you cant do freestyle in 12 knots then your flying the wrong kite, the park rocks.

13 or 15M C4's, you already have them and know how good they are, the 15M is an amazing kite, feels much smaller, same with the 13M.

yep, got the 9 and 11 and i'm loving them more and more each session. They've actually taught me how to fly a kite;) Not so sure about a c4 as a light wind option though. Light wind performance isn't their strongest suit... There must be better light wind performers that are good to unhook on?

problem is light wind performance kites have the type of characteristics unhooking kites dont and vice versa... seriously though if you can't get away unhooking on a 15m C4 then its too light to be worth the effort.

Hey Will, glad you got the kite flying sorted. Certainly the C4s are more demanding of quality input and correspondingly more responsive to it than your previous and no longer mentionable power plants.

I have to say though, winter for me is all or nothing so I'm surprised you're chasing a light wind option. That said I haven't been looking at the graphs lately so maybe there have been some 14 knot days...?

Certainly if next summer is setting up to be as crap as last one I'll be looking at a larger C4 then. Maybe I'll hit Steve up for a 15m demo if it comes to that. Meantime I'm getting my knee back in shape and counting down the days.

Seeya on the water.

Just wanted to see what light wind option's for freestyle were out there. Would likely get a 7m before I look at a 15/17m anyhow.
Took the 9 out for it's maiden voyage in inverloch the other week and survived 2 big fronts although kite was parked low and at the edge of the window and i was basically cruising dead upwind Also forgot to depower the kite so board skills have also improved. I reckon the top end would be close to 35 so pretty happy with the 9 for the time being, however, lose a bit of the fun factor when your're overpowered.

Will have to come and say hello when you're back on the water. Let me know if you ever get a 7 or 15 or zeph demo in.

Hi im 72kgs and can suggest a few depends how light, ive got a 17mtr taboo and that will get you going in less than 8kts and great unhooked from about 10 have done handle passes in rivermouth in 4_6 kts with the tide wont say i was fully lit but had fun the main thing the taboo excells at is it just so stable, and will still turn even with a small bar . Next in 15/18 i could ride 10 or 12 vegas or 12 mtr bandit or the new 12 rpm and i would have plenty,so depends how light and what tricks you want to do.
Hope this helps
George

It was tried and found guilty of aesthetic crimes against humanity in a recent thread.
