Got to have a ride one of Slingshots latest offerings, the Turbo 2 in a 14m.
This kite is a massive improvement on the original Turbo Diesel kite they brought out a couple of years ago.
The build as per usual is legendary Slingshot Bomber Construction. The little extra that I love is a new gadget they have added to the inlet valve, it clips around the valve and a cover holds the inlet valve cap in to prevent it popping out on the hard impacts (as well as the Velcro).
The Bar is the same as the 07 Link/ Fuel but uses pulleys as per the original Turbo Diesel and the active stopper ball, it has and extra long safety leash for connecting to the front lines this time.
In the sky the kite is super smooth and it's very stable, it was near on impossible for the kite to stall and fall backwards out of the sky in light winds, it drifted down out at the edge of the window instead when it got light. You have more control through the bar this time, not like T1 where the power was either on or off when you sheet in or out. The kite turned fairly fast for a large bow kite, there was moderate pressure on the bar but not excessive and gave you good feed back. Relaunching was a effortless, just pull on one side of the bar and out she came, every time and fast.
This kite will suit beginners to advanced riders, my opinion the guys who love riding waves but don't unhook will love this kite for it's depower and stability in the air. Beginners will love it for it's simplicity in setup, re/launching and flying characteristics. This kite shouldn't have the problems out of the bag as what the Link did, I think Slingshot have got this one right.
Now I can't wait to try one of the smaller kites in stronger winds. ![]()
Its about time slingshot got a bow kite right eh? Neither the TD or the Link have been stunning successes. Hopefully they have ironed the bugs out of this one and it goes some way to retrieving SS's reputation...

Hey mort have to wonder how many kites you've flown and over how many years to make such a statement...
Funny how people always focus on the negative??
I was at the wave nationals, had a spin on the t2 14m and was blown away. I was going up wind in, i thought 10knots. While the guys out surfing said no way it was only 8knots while I rode around them..
Matt tobin easily won the biggest jump or longest hang time on his very first ride on the 11m t2 second jump..
So many people got out on them, and were really impressed with the power, stability, and ease with which you could relaunch, launch, land, and with the bar being super simple and the slingshot one pump I didn't hear one negative back..
Thanks for the post hammer head.

On the other hand...the o6 Fuel trim setup is probably the world's best setup...maybe they could look at using that with a longer chicken loop line with a single line stopper ball system ???
