I hear there's some demo's in the stores, when should we expect the T3 to go on sale? I've read the posts in the review section (www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35556), can anyone offer some info on how these kites go and the differences between the T3 and T2.
I realise the below bar safety is a big plus but this can be setup on a T2, so has anyone flown both and can offer an opinion on flying characteristics? I'm tossing up waiting for a couple of T3's or getting some T2's now and saving some cash.
Of course i'll get a demo in before i part with my hard earned dosh..
Hi guys,
I had an T3 14M demo at Robe wave classic (SA) over the weekend.
Most of the guys that tried it liked it, but all said the turning was slow. (expected for this style and size kite)
I've had it in 10 > 21 knots on the 2 : 1 set up.
Good Friday here was very gusty, and most of the guys were on 10 & 12's.
I must admit I was hesitant to take the 14 out, but all my fears were turned to a huge grin once I hit the water.
The first thing I noticed, was how stable and smooth it was and along with the depower, it was a joy.
There were 2 other guys on 14's, during the day, i asked them how they were finding the conditions and they both said they were stuffed, due to the on / off conditions, I certainly didn't find the T3 a hand full.
It was great if i could park the kite whilst going down the line. I had to initate the turn sooner, along with more input to the bar was required if i had to move the kite around.
In one area it stood out, was inside (wind shadow) most of the other kites were struggling, where as the T3 was powered up.
Beating back up wind was a breeze, (forgive the pun).
A mate was on his 13 Rev, had to change down due to the on / off conditions. Except for a couple of gusts, the 14 was a delight to ride.
I had a chance to compare it to a 11m T2 on Sat on flat water around 15 > 20 knots. The T3 14 was easier to ride than the smaller T2.
Once you get use to the turning / sending, it actually boosts / floats very well for a big kite.
Crusing is where this kite is at. I was up and going a lot sooner than a mate on 15 Fuel, others were still standing on the beach.
Matched with a Glide I could be up and going in 10 knots.
I have a quiver of Rev's 13 > 7. IMHO the Rev's are surperior in the waves, but the T3 is the one for crusing. Having said that, I haven't had the chance to use the smaller T3's, they may well be very good in waves.
In the past, I've found faster turning kites don't have the grunt like this kite has. Suits its purpose, I think Slingy are right on with this kite.
If you are after a good light wind kite to get you up and going, then I would suggest you get you hands on one and try it for yourself.
Mr Bored,
Other than the pullies the bar is the same as the Rev's. No mess and works very well.
Relaunch is a walk in the park.
After flying the T3 14 alongside the T2 11 they were like chalk and cheese. No brainer, the T3 wins hands down. Belts up wind easier, better safety / depower etc.

Thanks Ian, that's the sort of input i was after. Anyone else have an opinion?
Anyone have an opinion on prices, i've been quoted 2,800 for 2 two T3's or just under 2k for 2 T2's.. Feel free to PM me cheaper prices! Seems like quite a difference in prices to me..
Hey guys you can unhook on the new t3 effortlessly.
Yes I did the coconet classic and rode the 9m T3 and placed third in the open men, ladning front side and back side 3's and a big pull up slim, plus other tricks.
The kites are in country and out on demo. If your local shop doesn't have one tell them to ask for one. great kite super stable get a ride and find out for your self. I love the below the bar safety system and super simple relaunch..
ps my to comp kite I rigged 9m rev and 9m T3 did the whole day on sunday on T3.
Hi guys
I have a T3 2009 11MTR in store at noosa already so if you're keen to try it come and see me . I rode it the other day in gusty, light conditions & I was very impressed. It turned much faster than a T2 but was much more grunty than a rev 11. Felt really nice unhooked (no depower needed) and as I said the wind was pretty unreliable (8-15), but the T3 was still very rideable. I'm waiting for some steady wind to try it properly particularily on the 1-1 setup not the pulley bar and to give it a run in the surf.
HAVE FUN

Flew my 11 up at double Island piont on sun day started off in varry light conditions
& ended up with some good smooth wind. What i like most is its feel unhooked even in light conditions on a mini mal it still feels good didnt even look like stalling & it stayed back in the window easily.
have fun

Why is everyone saying that the Turbos turn slowly, I know in comparison to other bows of the same size it turns pretty quicky... well mine does, possibly because I have rather short lines 15m or so. If I watch other bows, they struggle to turn at the same speed.. maybe I'm wrong, but I am also able to loop my 14m no problem and have a fairly good clearance of the ground.
