I have two kites that i am looking at, both the RRD type 7 12m and the slingshot fuel 11m but can't decide bewteen the two. I am looking for a stable easily flown kite that has good wind range and upwind capabilities (boosting isn't my priority). If someone who has some knowledge of these two kites give me some feedback to help choose it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
u need k the swearing bear for his fn comment
he had 12 rrd and now a 13m fueller
keith?
or are u actually working today un-fn-likely![]()
both are excellent kites. i wouldn't be able to choose between them. i found the low end on the type 7 to be a good bit better than the 11 fuel and not suprisingly the high end on the fuel slightly higher than the type 7
the type 7 turns snappier, and more on the wingtips, the fuel really needs to be thrown to turn as fast (but it does turn as fast if u try hard enough)
both kites tangle their centre three lines to some degree.
one pump rocks.
you wont go wrong either way. if you are looking for a single kite id say get the type7, the fuel's range isn't as usable for me (80kgs)
The Type 7 is a great kite as is the Fuel....for me I felt the RRD was much quicker in the air the Fuel is very slow and much heavier on the bar, perhaps a little more stable than the RRD though, the Fuel does have one pump which is a big bonus. The graphics on the Type 7 rock...
Close call but I would be slightly more biased to the RRD, if you can find the extra $ the RRD Type 8 has been launched ( which I now have a set of ), amazing Top & Low end, huge depower and now one pump. I guess you will get a killer deal on a Type 7 now though with the launch of Type 8....
Best advice as always would be try them both, see what feels best for you!!!
Hope this helps
Jez.
i'm also looking at buying either the fuel 11m or RRD type 7 (12m) though I don't know if they're a bit big for me. I'm 75kg and looking for something to go out in 15-20+knots and to start learning some basic tricks on.
I flew the cabrinha nitro beforehand, but it's 4 line (04) so doesnt give me enough depower when the wind picks up.
any suggestions on either the fuel, RRD, or anything else?
i would look at an 7m or 9m rrd ive got a 12
im 95kg when she hits at 18 25 im crankin on it may be a bit big for ya but depends on ya skill & how ya ride
