This is definitely a biased review. Friday
I own and ride a Nobile Skim board and I love it. Actually I had a few runs on it today, nothing special mind you, but hey, I had fun, and what a way to end the week.
Several of Perth's better kiters and great ambassadors for the sport were out also in extremely light breeze (max 15 knots),and I'm not sure they would agree the session was at all memorable. Normally I would actually agree with them, but for the fact, that I was able to ride a 2006 11 metre Fuel (Definitely not a light wind kite for a heavy old guy, unless you have a skim board with the planing properties of the Nobile. I cannot comment on other brands and can only review my own. The Nobile comes with fins and can be ridden omni directionally, the fins are easily removed for Advanced riding. I also own a number of Surf boards, (1 less since Choicey buried one in 5 metre swell off Rottnest's West End (Cathedrals) a few months ago, any way for those wanting to learn to ride strapless and also gain some planing efficiency on light days the Nobile is the easiest place to start, its much easier to master than a surfboard. I have in the past owned 16 metre kites and in the same conditions with my twin tip I still couldn't have ridden. Now the inevitable plug, whatever you do don't tell Choicey I told you he has one you can demo, he will be really pis#*d off that the secrets out.
i just got a nobile skim..
Never had roded strapless before.. Top board .
in a few crashes .. i was starting to turn toeside. and 180 switches..top board..
I like how u can slide it all about when u want..
hope i get a session on it today in the light winds coming..
Looks like light wind in Perth again today, I plan to get out this afternoon, best thing about the skim board is I can use a small kite, I'm planning to ride with a 9 metre 07 Fuel. Tomorrow looks a treat over here 30+ knots!!!!!!
