Has anyone flown these kites back to back and could shed some light on the differences...

I own cat and reo.

Reo is better down the line drifting. Slighty better relaunch. perhaps more depower at the bar.

Cat is better upwind, better jumping. It holds its own in the waves but doesn't drift as well as reo

If you are dedicated down the line wave rider then reo. Anything else cat.

I own a two cats and a reo.

What Plummet said, and also the Reo has a much faster turn. Handy for quick changes of direction as you do in the surf but is a little less forgiving.

Some of the most impressive wave riders I've seen rode c4s, more impressive watching someone looping down the wave and smashing it than a static kite, plus boosting over the incoming swell on the way out for the next incoming set, had a great session last night in some very decent size swell on my edge, with 2 mates on wave kites, no pure wave riding by me but I wouldn't of swapped kites , I was having a ball

Stop being incool Cauncy. Unless you are smashing strapless airs or are a hot chick doing ****ty wakestyle then you are uncool and your input is not required....

PS I agree. up until last year my 10m was a c4 in the waves. Awesome fun.... But edge is awesomer...... So now my 10m is and edge.

Hi guys thanks for the feed back ,l think it just becomes personal prefrance, lve come of RPMs the last 5yrs and oddly enough there a great wave kite , have been on a REO the last 10 month's and find it a great wave kite but seems to jump long more than up for me which I'm finding hard to get use to.l suppose I'll perceiver and crack it sooner or later...

I'll be honest. I don't feel the love jumping the Reo. Its my least favorite kite for punting jumps.

Was out on my 8m cat the other day. Maybe 30 knot gusts.. I managed a least a couple of jumps of lamp post height or higher. I was high enough for me to look down and think well i'm actually quite high!.

Couldn't part with them, the flexi Id is a sweet kite especially the 8 but too heavy in build to make use of lighter winds , as for the 12 , it hasn't been out of its bag gotta love Mw winds
