thuffam said..Looks fantastic. Looking forward to your review.
Well to say the weather up here has been a bit **** is an understatement! Late on Sunday arvo the SE kicked up to about 14-16knots, my downwinder mate chose to go with a zephyr V7 UX and a mako 150 (85kg) and I (71kg) went with the Enduro V5 13m in the pics above and the Ozone Infinity V3 1.48, I felt the wind was a bit light for my 22ltr surfboards.
Wind is side on at the start and becomes more onshore as you work up the beach, the new swell was just starting to send some bigger sets through at about 2M. The sea state was messy and the only chance to boost was to line up a small ramp in the gutter where the water was a bit smoother for landing.
The kite blew me away from the time I got it out of the bag (its so light), we had a Harlem 9m Thrive in the shop just before I left to drive home and it weighed in at about 2.3kg and the Enduro UX 13M weighs less at about 2.2kg. The kite handles and feels like a 10-11m kite, turns very fast and I had it on the fast turn rear setting and the wave front bridle setting. Can't say much about drift because the conditions were not right for wave riding and I was on a big TT anyway.
Easy to boost and loop even on a 13M, the kite flies fast and builds apparent wind and power quickly. Didn't crash so can't comment on relaunch but it self launches just like any other LEI. I have relaunched the standard construction Enduro V5 13m and its easy, so I expect the UX version will be as easy too.
The kite will be in Sydney from the 12th to the 24th of this month and is available for demo to experienced riders.
