New to Australia, new to melbourne and new to kiteboariding.

Currrently got a power kite but have decided to step up to the kiteboarding mark. Im looking to develop a one kite quiver but am baffled by the wide range of kites available. really havent got any decent advice from stores etc. on which to buy. Ive been recomended to go for a 14m (apparently right for most of st kildas conditions), and want a kite that I wont grow out of as my abilities go from poor to average.

Obviously as per normal price is a limiting factor. Not to confident on purchasing 2nd hand due to no idea about wear etc. Any recomendatiosn would be greatly appreciated, also any advice places to shop (leb or net).

I learnt this yr on a 13m diesel wkends for about 6 months. xcellent kite to learn on very stable predictable all that couple of warranty issues, but iam assured it was a one off of the hundreds they sold and they did look after me though it meant missing a few days.

But i would certainly recommend it.

I would have to say to save your dollars and buy a bow style kite,I rode one for the first time the other day and thought it was awsome. Powered up it felt great, I dropped it once and within maybe 10 seconds I was back up and riding. Very stable and the depower is unreal when it feels a bit out of control just push the bar away and you stop. I wish I had one when I was learning! Cheers

Nice choice. You might need an experienced kitesurfer to help you get the tuning sorted out to start off, because its quite a bit out, out of the bag.
