Has anyone ridden both of these boards (underground FLX 122 and 132), if so whats the comparison?

Thanks

122 is more skatey, turns quicker, is lighter, easier to fling around for board offs, and gives more feedback from the water ie you feels all the bumps thgough it etc... as it's skatey as you try land rotating jumps you can skid/slip out and as the board is skinnier and shorter, when you do land vertically and slap the board there's less margin for error than on the 132...

132 felt like a more stable tracking board ie not feeling every bump, was more difficult to carve super tightly but easier to land all the jumps, little heavier and more surface area so again a bit more energy required to manouvre around ...

bear in mind, im only 175cms, so if your up at the 185 - 190 or over 80-85 kgs, the 132 will feel as skatey to you as the 122 does to me...

if your just learning intermeditate stuff , i would go for a 132 as the 122 does take a bit more finesse and will have you skidding out more times than the 132, also if you get the 122 make sure you get 50mm fins, or else it gets even skateier! and if your allready riding something in the 130 - 140 size, and was thinking of downsizing , may aswell cause it's a different feel, and you will loose hardly any low wind planing

Thanks chopper, I took your advice and purchased the 132, also speaking to the local kiters here they also agree with what you stated. They ride boards about 130 in length and suggest that because I have a sonic I dont need a shorter board to wash of any power as my kite can do that for me. Apparently the 132 goes upwind alot easier than the 122 for an intermediate kiter like myself.

Thanks again

Need to ride the 122 more powered.. . need one size kite more . Found I would hang onto my 13 instead of changing to a 9.
Im 73KG and loving my 122 Flx . A bit of adjustment in riding feel, skatier and more fun and can definately hold down more power.
Carrying a bigger kite I dont lose anything in the low end and air time is better.
Easier to get overpowered on a 132.
I think Im progressing quicker on this smaller board.

I ride an 11m sonic with a 122flx 04 as my standard kit. I've been really impressed with the low end of this set-up. With the right flying technique I find that I can get going far earlier than I would have expected. There's no denying that the 132 will give you a little more low end though.

You probably won't go wrong with the 132 either. I think board size becomes less critical with sheetable kites. Going bigger may give you better low end, but going smaller will usually feel better when dangling in the air.
